Ok. On my way somewhere once again. If this is my 20th trip somewhere this year, then this is probably my 60th airport this year. They all pretty much look the same. You look out the window and...you wait...alot.
Still, some airports are better than others. Some are really dismal. Madison is really good. Canberra Australia is quite good. Geneve is really easy to get in/out of. For big airports, Minneapolis is really good, so is Amsterdam.
The crummy airport list is really big though. Bottom of that list is Charles DeGaul Paris - horrible place. Rivaling though is O'hare Chicago, LAX Los Angeles, two of the worst airports in the world. CKS in Taipei is pretty bad also. Nashville is a really nice use of interior brick - not. Heathrow London is literally spread out so much that the terminals are miles apart from each other. How stupid is that. Notice that most of my really horrible list is big cities.
The sketchiest airport I have been to is Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. When I went through there, there were ways around security and it was a free for all.
Oh well. Off to Europe again.

The beauty of CDG is in its random queues, the way you have to go up through those tubes in the center of T1 in order to go down, and the horrified look on people's faces when they discover the security people are going to open up their bike cases right there on the floor, in front of everyone, dirty underwear & all. I've never found anything quite like it.
Brussels might be OK when they finish with it. Geneve is efficiently boring (not saying that's bad). Smaller French airports like TLS and LYS are quite pleasant. Shanghai is impressive, but got to say Singapore is my favorite place to spend Midnight-7am at.
