There are opportunities that present themselves throughout the course of life that you can’t help but jump at. Recently we were given the opportunity to collaborate with the creatives at WIRED Magazine to create a truly unique ride and offer the dream bike experience of Project One to a whole new audience. Designed to commemorate WIRED’s growth to a publication that stretches across all aspects of technology, lifestyle, and popular culture this Project One Madone 6.9 will be on display at the WIRED Pop-up store from now through the holiday season. The store, located at 415 W. 13th St. New York City between 9th ave. and Washington), will host a number of this season’ must have whiz-bangs included among them a kiosk where customers can design the Trek of their dreams.
The bike, designed by WIRED Creative Director Scott Dadich, WIRED Products Editor Mark McClusky, and Trek Product Art Director Mike Pfaltzgraff, utilizes prismatic silver with continuous color blocks that are a chronological representation of every WIRED spine since the very first issue in January 1993.
A few of us made “the list” for the opening party for the store last week and were treated to a set of beats laid by none other than Moby himself. Also, I heard the actor (and fellow Madison-native) Chris North, Mr.Big from “Sex and the City”, was there as well. It’s probably just as well we didn’t bump into each other. I’ve been told that I’m definitely a Carrie. Mike, our Product Art Director, is probably a Charlotte (although he claims to be a Samantha).
